Oregon Legislation Would Allow Children to Decide About Abortion/Transgenderism Without Parental Consent

Political progressives want to divorce children from their parents regarding crucial issues such as sex, abortion, and transgenderism. Pending legislation from the hard-left state of Oregon would do just that. Read More ›

Lengthening Statute of Limitations to Stop Transgender-Youth Mutilations

I believe that one day the transgender moral panic will come crashing down. But not before thousands of minors are harmed by having their natural puberties blocked, breasts removed, and even worse. Read More ›

The Transgender Tide Is Turning

The time has come for an intense but mutually respectful societal conversation that focuses not only on the causes of transgenderism and the potential benefits of transitioning such people, but also the many risks and alternatives that can care compassionately for suffering people while maintaining cultural equilibrium. Our future thriving requires nothing less. Read More ›

Maryland Catholic Hospital Liable for Refusing Transgender Hysterectomy

Two principles of Catholic health-care ethics forbid removing healthy organs and sterilizing a patient absent a necessity caused by a pathology, such as cancer. These principles are increasingly in conflict with the transgender movement that has the ACLU and others suing when Catholic hospitals refuse transgender surgeries based on these religiously based precepts. ‘Nullectomy’: Physician-Assisted Mutilation

I don’t know how much more of this our culture can take. “Gender-affirming” surgeries are growing increasingly extreme. A source sent me links to websites operated by doctors who perform “bottom surgeries” advertising “genital nullification” — a.k.a. “nullectomy” — procedures that remove genitalia in order to create a “smooth” appearance in the groin. Bioethicist Proposes ‘Right’ to Gender-Affirming Care

It is important to keep an eye on mainstream bioethics journals, because seemingly ludicrous ideas that begin in the ivory tower often become public policy. Read More ›

Hundreds of Teen ‘Gender-Affirming’ Mastectomies Each Year

I believe this moral panic will end when trial lawyers catch the scent of money and malpractice cases flood the courts — as has started in the U.K. That time cannot arrive soon enough. Read More ›

Episcopal Church Endorses ‘Gender-Affirming’ Mutilations of Children

The Episcopal Church has endorsed “gender-affirming care” at all ages, including mastectomies and “bottom” surgeries that sterilize and cause sexual dysfunction. From the Episcopal House of Deputies Resolution: Resolved, that the 80th General Convention calls for the Episcopal Church to advocate for access to gender affirming care in all forms (social, medical, or any other) and at all ages as part of our Baptismal call to “respect the dignity of every human being”; and be it further Resolved, that the 80th General Convention affirms that all Episcopalians should be able to partake in gender affirming care with no restriction on movement, autonomy, or timing; and be it further Resolved, that the 80th General Convention understands that the protection of religious liberty extends to all Episcopalians who may need or desire to access, to utilize, to aid others in the procurement of, or to offer gender affirming care; and be it further Resolved, that this 80th General Convention supports public policies at the local, state, and national levels in all our countries to support gender affirming care. This means puberty blockers that can impede proper bone growth and hormones that can have deleterious side effects that have not been fully studied. Castration of boys who believe they are girls. Destroying the vaginas of girls who believe they are boys. This, at a time when major medical-negligence lawsuits are soon to be filed in the U.K. against Tavistock Gender Clinic because it did not properly protect children from exactly the interventions the Episcopal Church has endorsed, as health authorities in France, Finland, and Sweden are hitting the brakes on this awful approach to caring for children with gender dysphoria, not to mention the bitter testimonials of detransitioners furious that they were not protected from such actions by doctors and parents. The Episcopal Church believes it is being affirming of human dignity, when it is endorsing actions that really entail the opposite. Children have to be protected — even, sometimes, from themselves.
